Comment C. elegans pink1 mutant tm1779 displayed an increased sensitivity to a 3-day exposure to paraquat compared with wild type. Expression of transgenic pink-1 in pink-1(tm1779) mutants was sufficient to partially rescue the animals against paraquat-induced toxicity and other defects. This indicates that pink1 functions in oxidative stress response.
