NA modulates inflammation and protects against EAE, suggesting that melanocortin-induced NA release may be relevant in MS, a notion reinforced by findings with the beta2-adrenergic agonist albuterol which, as an add-on to glatiramer acetate, strikingly reduces MS relapses.
