Interaction Information:

Comment The IMMP2L subunit is responsible for cleaving the targeting sequence of cytochrome c1 and mitochondrial glycerol phosphate dehydrogenase 2 (GPD2) recognized by Imp1 in yeast. In mice, mutations in both IMMP2L alleles cause an impairment in Cyt1 and GPD2 maturation. Mouse mitochondria without IMMP2L were shown to produce an increasing amount of superoxide but showed normal GPD2 and mitochondrial respiratory complex III activities, as well as the normal level of mitochondrial bioenergetic capacity.
